What is the chrome thing the nickeilone shows? Why not have this URL sent to the Donaldson guy so he can read this for himself and show his guys too? Plumbing shops sell 4" rubber tubing to connect black PVC sewer piping. Would that work here?

it's more along the line of a joke... it is an aircleaner housing that you would more likely see bolted to the side of a peterbilt cab... ;)

if the outlet of the powercore bhaf is 6", a simple 6" to 4" exhaust adapter would work to bush it down to the required size... i don't know if that adapter is real common, but i have seen 6" exhaust tips that slip over 4" pipe, so that is almost the right size right there. . you'd just need a 6" od to 4" od adapter...

I got handed off to a different contact, who has not yet responded. I'll give them another week or so (with frequent emails from me) before I start getting overbearing.

Corporate bureaucracies, y'know.

For the adapter you might try asking a truck shop for a 4"x 6" "hump hose", I don't know if a 4x6 is available but I have used several around 3x4 to connect air filters before, I know a 5x6 is available... ...

Its too bad the plan got cancelled. From a post on page 3, I understand that this is a filter out of an industrial application, like for an air compressor or something, with a silencer plate removed for the most air flow possible. And this is why the PN listed doesnt work. I wonder if we could purchase the industrial version of the test filter you had, remove the plate ourselves, and then make our own reducers to work?

I don't see why you couldn't do that. Buy the filter, then mod it. If you're cutting things out on the clean side of the filter, it could get messy.

Any chance your rep at Donaldson could get you the PN of the original powercore filter? If not, Im sure enough looking through the catalog would get me the right one.

PCD100028?

Googled that number, no results.

Same here, ive been on the Donaldson site for an hour looking around, and havent found anything like that. I sent an email to Donaldson, and will call them tomorrow to try and find the P/N that they have for this unit. I hope it is still in production.....

I'd like to look at the other filters they have available (I like the oval shapes). But their website seems rather stinky... I can't just download a .pdf catalog to look through pictures with dimensions and what-not for all the available air cleaners...

Specifically, I like the packaging of this filter. But their website is awful and I can't locate anything that looks like this.

NO joke. Their site is pretty lame as far as specifics. All I could find was the previously posted pdf on the PSD10 PSD12, etc.

Dont have a price yet, but the division you want to talk to is the gas turbine division of Donaldson. From what I understand so far, your typical Donaldson filter retailer (typically automotive) wont be able to get you this filter, and no part number will exist for it according to them. I got home too late today to talk to the gas turbine division, but they did return my call. I will post up tomorrow morning about the best way to get this filter, and the cost.
