OK, I'll admit a bunch of diesel heads may not be the best group to give advise on buying jewelry, but you never know. That said I'm 1,400 miles from home and our 40th wedding anniversary is coming up. I'm thinking ruby necklace, my concern is the possibility of making a bad purchase online and a local purchase really isn't feasible. So, any advise out there.

Thanks, RR

Check out Sears, I know, not exactly the cremedelacreme, but they are honest. I purchased a matching set of pearl earrings and necklace for my wife from Sears online, she loves them (at least she was gracious enough to let me believe that). Jess

Most of the wife's collection of hang on trinkets has been purchased from these folks. They are a big chain and the store in Bangor that I use is first rate.

I just looked on the web and they do on-line sales. .

I redid the search using simply "ruby" rather than the "ruby necklace"..... a lot more results.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been looking at options and it amazing how much better synthetic rubies look than the real thing. Of course it could be due to the fact I'm staying under $1,000. Some great prices on line, they just don't look (real rubies at least in the pictures) all that great. We'll see.
