I installed a Sinister diesel bypass and my truck leaked like crazy at the valve cover. It was leaking at the back of the motor at the valve cover, replaced the gasket but eventually started leaking again. I think it had a lot to do with putting out way to much pressure back into the top of the motor. So I took it off. No more leaks....
Not sure about the Sinister kit, but the Amsoil kit appears to have a very small restriction in the line so only a small amount of oil should be going through the bypass filter and back to the crankcase.
@sag2, You're correct on the Amsoil unit. That's the setup I put on my truck to also move the filter. They allow about a 10% flow to the bypass. The kit I have is the side by side unit, full flow and then bypass before returning to engine the oil filter adapter. I know I don't need it but already had it on the shelf when my truck dropped in my lap! Makes filter changes so much easier being under passengers floorboard! Hardest part was making skid plate protecting the unit!!!!!!
