Keep in mind that the marine cam's are designed to run at or near full govenor speed



That's correct. I have a marine 370 spec sheet in front of me (cpl 2208)... peak hp occurs at 3000 rpm (that's max) and the curve is pretty much a straight line from 600 rpm thru 3000.

You planing on turning well past 4000rpm?

If not there is no reason to go bolt on gear!



P. S.

Many trucks have turned well past 4000rpm's with our cam and press on gear with no ill effects. Todate not one gear on our cams have walked off.
