Campgrounds in/near Montgomery, AL

EGT too high

Going to Naval Postgrad School in June and would like to know if there's a decent campground in/near Monterey or NPS to set up the camper semi-permanantly for the 15 months I'll be there.

Anyone who has any experience in this area please weigh in with any recommendations.

Thanks

Pretty nice area to stay, we have visited the area a few times and camped there. A 15 month stay would have to be negotiated for sure being that long. Here are a few places to try:

Monterey, CA Campgrounds

Any that don't offer that long of stay, just ask them for a referral.

Big Sur Campground is beautiful. Kirk Creek campground is a rare gem also. We were up there in November. Beautiful warm days and cool nights for a week. Everything changed after that. :) Jalama county park, south of Vandenburg is a must. First come, first served.

I guess it would depend on how close you need to be to NPS. My wife is from Monterey. Big Sur would be beautiful but a bit of drive time if you have to commute daily. I am not familiar with any of the campgrounds in the area though. I would stay away from Salinas (too far if you are commuting) and can get really ghetto. Seaside and Marina also can be pretty ghetto (seaside more so). Moss landing is a little far, but could be nice.
I just did a quick google search... campgrounds loc: monterey, ca - Google Maps

Marina Dunes RV park is just north of the old Ft Ord and not too far from the NPS. Expect to pay well over $55 per day (last time I checked about 4 years ago). Approx. 10 miles north of this park is a KOA park and it's rates are currently over $75 per night:eek: We stayed at the Monterrey country fairgrounds a few years ago and it was much cheaper but I"m not sure they do longterm stays.
