3500 Rear Air Suspension delay

New guy here. Considering going from my existing 2012 Ford F350 6.7 extended cab, short bed, 4X4, Lariat to a new Ram MC. When we bought the Ford I didn't need much back seat space but we've since added a "plus one" to our dinner card, so the Mega will be a big difference over the extended cab. Also, looking to upgrade our current toyhauler to one with more pin weight so the extra 900 lbs of payload is a plus too. Anyways, I posted on a few RV forums because those guys are nuts about weights and was shocked that no one had ever actually weighed the truck I was considering. (I could have sworn those guys lived at the CAT scales...:D) I have seen all the listed weights on the configuration I'm after and I know I have enough payload (just under 4k) for the pin weight of the RV I want. However, the limiting factor for pin weight is still the rear axle's 7k rating and not the payload since all the pin weight is all carried by the rear axle whereas payload is for both axles. The truck I am looking to order would be a mega-6.7-Aisin-SRW-4X4-Laramie. Maybe a few other options to add some weight. So, has anyone with this exact setup ever gotten individual weights? IE: drive, steer, and total? Any help would be appreciated and may get you all a new active user here on the forums! I'll just have to figure out how to break it to the guys at FTE if I cross over...

I would consider the Crew Cab over the Mega, The Crew is almost as big as the Mega, the Crew is available with an 8' box, which is better to tow with heavy pin weight. You can mount the hitch further forward for weight distribution and turning ability.

Not what I'm after.

The mega's are nice and I see what your saying about the Mega cab, but compare the CC, as they are very roomy. The Mega also has a shorter box than the short box on the CC. You might have to consider a slider for a hitch and extra weight involved there. AS for the weight thing A dually might be the best solution in either choice. Don't be sorry you made the wrong choice.

While I understand everyone's thoughts, I know what I want and it's what I have listed. Not looking for any advice on what else to consider. Just looking for the weights on the configuration listed. Thanks.

Hopefully someone will post the Ram Builder site for you. It has all the weights and measures. For some reason I didn't bookmark it!
I understand you're saying the Mega is what you want. The Crew is a lot bigger than the previous Dodge Quad Cab and the Ford Extended Cab. Just sayin... they do sell a LOT of Mega cabs.

I don't think there is any going back after having a Mega Cab.....granted the newer Crew Cab is roomy but not like a Mega Cab.

I don't have a bit of trouble towing and turning with a 6 1/2' box. No slide hitch either. The length of the truck makes it a lot harder to stuff a cab corner into the trailer nose. You could still do it but nowhere near as tricky as a Quad Cab shortbox.

Mike.

I've seen the builder site but it didn't have actual rear axle weights, just base weights. Mega short bed has the highest GVWR for Ram SRW trucks but it evens out as it's 100+lb heavier than the crew long bed. But, I don't want a long bed as I plow with the truck from time to time and although it's only a foot longer, I want to keep it down as much as I can in length. I also only am after trailers with a front end cap that doesn't require a slider. My current RW 30C is the same way.

I'm guessing about 3300 plus my hitch so close to 3500. So, the real rear payload is 3500. I'll just go with that guess unless someone has a real weight. Thanks anyways guys.

A couple of differences, 68RFE, CC. Full tank fuel, full tank DEF. steering axle 4900lbs, drive axle 3120lbs, total axle 8020lbs.
Certified CAT scale, hope this helps.

I have the same as you want except I have DRW. Full fuel and DEF tank and the driver (165 lbs). Steering axle 5260lbs, Drive axle 4000lbs, total axle 9260lbs. Certified Cat scale.
