I'm looking at buying an Autometer Triple Dash pod, but I don't want it to be installed in the middle of the windshield. I was wanting to put it directly in front of the driver's seat so that I would just have to glance down 8-10 inches to see my gauges. You guys that have installed them already, is there anyway to install them in this spot. TIA

I installed mine in front of the center councel, just like you are thinking but in the center of the seat, I think that if you put it in front of the drivers seat it would be aukward to see and possibly be a drivers hindrance. Look in my readers rigs section, I think I have a pic there .

Cheers, Kevin

I think it will also block the defroster outlet if you place it directly in front of the driver. Even in the center is is pretty convenient to see. Since I already feel like the A pillar is too thick I decided not to go with pillar mounted gauges. It would also make me change my focal point enough that I would not be looking down the road if I were checking pillar mounted gauges. The only disadvantage I see to my dash pod is the hole in the center if I ever decided to take it out.

You would have to seriously modify it in order to move it over like that, not to mention the gauges would be at the wrong angle. They are molded to sit in the center and have a slight angle toward the driver.

If you want to have one sit right off the A pillar, then you should get this one from Diesel Injection service (made by US Gear).

Angle is good and very user friendly, this setup will hinder if you use the center seat to sit in but I never raise the consel,
