Can bus B "inactive" and can be reset.. help please

I am having issues with the hot power for the trailer plug not working. so i went to dealer, and the star tool said CAN B Bus "inactive" , he couldn't clear/reset it. He tries a few times.



No lights on dash... .

only code P0513 (Been there for years, due to alarm/remote start. )



so where or what things do i begin with to trouble shoot with?

I guess I'd be asking my dealer tech/service manager why he doesn't get an answer for this problem from STAR tech support if he doesn't know how to resolve it. But that's just me.....

Rusty has it, the tech doesn't know what he's doing. Not sure if the 12v power is controlled by the TIPM but if it is, you'll need to clear the code or replace the TIPM.
If it were me, I'd just bypass the TIPM and run a fused wire from the battery.

It is my understanding that the 12v to the trailer plug is NOT controlled by the TIPM. Did you check the fuse?
I just looked at the factory wiring and I got confused as to whether the 12 volt is CONTROLED by the electronics.

There is a fuse for it under the hood in the power distribution box on the left inner fender well.

(they didn't charge to attempt to reset it. )

I will thoroughly go thru the fuse box again in the morning.

It is FUSE 19

Fuse 19 and it does go through the electronics.

Problems with the trailer tow seven pin receptacle are often resolved by replacing an expensive module under the hood.
