Can I mix WVO in my tank?

I have a source for WVO. I don't have the money to install the complete setup, but I will be putting about 15. 000 mi on my truck this summer. I was wondering if I could mix say 25% WVO and 75% diesel in my tank with no problems? I have been looking and searching but I cant find anyone who is doing it. I will be filtering the oil very good. What do you think? Should it be more WVO or less?

25% is a good start. Filter the crap out of it till it looks like iced tea or honey. Make sure you heat it up good to drive off any water and also run it through a water block filter(s). Over and over. The stock fuel transfer pump cant handle 100% WVO fuel so I suggest a FASS pump or similar frame mounted device.

I use 20% WVO fuel in my current truck. My old truck (2003 2500) I used 100% WVO in the summer. It drove fuel cost per mile to less than 5 cents.

I read most of that thread yesterday. Thanks for posting. I would like to have a seperate heated tank, but right now that is not an option. Can I safely go beyond 25%? This is for the summer only. When it cools down I will ether stop the WVO or install the heated tank and lines. Does the #2 thin out the WVO enough to make it pumpable with our stock lift pump?

that is the biggest issue with the cummins (its really an dodge issue) is the lift pump and there are fixes for that.



the main problem is the big time restriction in the fuel line coming out of the tank less then . 250 id this kills the pump mounted in either in the tank or on the block also if you put a fass pump on the truck it will be killed by the same problem.



every truck that i have done gets the standred 150/95 big filter fass pump heated with a tank heater (arctic fox) and a dip tube made from . 500 ss tube with . 035 wall this combo works. -8 fittings to the fass pump and - 6 to the ip by pass the stock filter filter.



as far as running 25/75 yes it will be fine and up to 50/50 will work also once you get to 75/25 then your problems get worse, blending works to a point then you need heat.



the next issue will be geting the used vegetable oil clean if you read the dse post that ken told you about then you know what will work no need for twin tanks just filler up and go.

How many microns are you filtering to?

I have build and installed wvo kits on many trucks and I currently have one on my 95 12v It is possable to run up to even a 50/50 mix with wvo and #2 the mix ratio in my opinion is ruled by the ambiant air temp the warmer it is outside the more wvo you can run I have done this in my truck with no issues I would recoment filtering it down to 2 microns with some kind of water block filter

So, you have a WVO kit on your 95 or it is possible to run a 50/50 mix of wvo and diesel without any other modifications?



I have a source of highly cleaned down to 1 micron, and de-watered WVO. I'm getting 55 gallons of it delivered on Sunday and want to start mixing with diesel. It's become to much of a pain to drive 25miles to fill up on B100.



Am I skeered? Kind of.
