A couple side notes:
Dave R. pulled both days with a blown head gasket. Not to worry he says, it only leaks above 55 psi!lol
After resetting the sled on Saturday for the street class, Scott Amos was the first puller. Due to time, I didn't allow him to drop his hook and come back and pull again. I apologize for that.
However, his Sunday hook, rocked, and made up for it.
A change or two since Muncie, Scott?
Ray Gullet, long distance award, clear from Missouri, only to be whooped by a Duramax on Saturday. (I know, I know, the track!) He redeemed himself Sunday, and let Steinel be whooped by the Duramax.
Speaking of Duramaxes, Tomac got huge applause when he pulled. I think the Chevy fans were almost brought to tears when then saw him right in it with the Dodges! Somebody build that kid a turbo.
Kent and Van, clearly, the two top trucks in the country. They have done a lot of tuning since Muncie, incredible.
JOHNBOY. The lone Ford crusader.
Well.
He got 4th place in the burnout contest, and huge applause for shoving the steel plate right back, out from underneath the truck.
He was skeered we were going to put him in with Kent and Van, because of his stack through the hood. Now that would be rotten to the Ford fans.
He pulled Pro Street, and his mighty twin turboed PSD was only 55 feet from first, and 9 feet out of next to last.
The truck pulls right, it just lacks about 150hp, it desperately needs.
Special thanks goes to Johnboy and Tomac for coaching the two rookies.
I asked Tomac how his Duramax apprentice liked pulling, "He beat the Ford Rookie, he's happy. "
Somethings will never change.
To my knowledge, I was the only one who broke, I lost the HX-40 getting off my exit on the way home.
Thanks to everyone who made this show the crowd pleaser it was.
