Can't seem to get more than 20# boost - any ideas?

Howdy all,

I had a set of DD stage 3 injectors and a DD boost module installed in my truck about 6 weeks ago. I also upgraded to a 50# ISSPRO boost gauge. I also have a full Psychotty air intake and 4" jardine exhaust. I thought I remembered reading a few TDR threads that indicated with these BOMBs, I could expect to see close to 30# boost when I hit the diesel pedal, but even when pushing hard uphill (empty), I still can't get more than exactly 20# boost to show on the gauge.

Does this sound reasonable, or not? I do not have a boost elbow, so maybe that's why???

The missing modified boost elbow is the reason. Why don't you have one? Didn't your boost module kit come with one?
I tried my truck without the elbow for a while and I got sky hi EGT... I imagine your is doing the same. With the elbow in place you should see about 36psi boost and alot lower EGT's.

yes tom you need an elbow , but you should see more , with my stock elbow , 275's va and the PE in level 3 i could make over 32psi with the wastegate OPEN #ad

Mike, I ordered the DD Stage 3's and DD boost module through another TDR member, and as these were my first BOMBs, I didn't know that a boost elbow usually comes as part of a kit with the boost module.

I just installed a EZ and used the turnbuckle method and I see 29-30 lb. I was suprised to see that much boost w/ just a EZ. (It'll lay down a cloud if you punch it while sitting in heavy traffic. #ad
BD1s go in After the DTT TC & VB get installed. Sometime next week I hope. The turnbuckle really only took about 15 min. Check "zman" posts for more info. It's also removable if your truck has to go into the dealer.
