Although there are some promising plug methods, I have to believe somewhere, somehow the aftermarket will eventually come up with a capped solution. My brother just bought a '13 and couldn't believe the capless design. My engineering background can't seem to explain this any other way but "follow the money".

I bought the GENOS cap for mine . . works great. Tight seal etc etc. . check their web site. 10-12 bucks or something. done. looks good too.

That is way to cheap and way under engineered for some here. We must spend a couple of hundred bucks and spend many hours re-engineering it to do the same job, just a little differently! Because that's how we roll! :D

I bought a nominal 1. 5" ABS plumbing cap at Lowe's, cut it to . 7" or . 8" depth, chamferred the top with a grinder so it clears the filler door. It is a snug fit on the fuel filler.

This was posted on CF... It was shipped with the plug, on a 14MY.

Not only is dirt a concern here, but when I went to fill up after running it through the car wash... there was WATER on the flap! Crabjoe, I like that green plug that came with yours, maybe i'll run over to the dealer and see if maybe they have a discarded one, otherwise i'll give the rubber sewer cap or Joe's ABS idea a shot.

That right there is reason enough for Ram to do something different! Obviously the only way for water to get in there is to leak around the so called "sealed door". The same seal that let's dust get in as well.

Maybe that's why we have two fuel filters now? Ram knows the fuel will be dirtier thanks to the fuel fill, so they put an extra filter inline to clean the dirty fuel. Engineering at its finest, lol.

There are two separate valves . When the top one is opened the cavity to the next one is vented. Any liquid that gets in here will run out a drain line to the ground. Not an issue at all according to my son. We were talking about it while adding DEF yesterday. (used 19L or 5 USG to go 8700 miles) received warning 200 miles to go before limited to 5mph. Ran it that low on purpose to make sure all warnings working.

The Genos one works great. It does on my 13 anyway. 14's have some type of plug now, or so I have read on here.

Only issue I've had is that the green plastic that sticks about an 1" above the top cap snapped on me the other day. A chunk came right off when I pulled out the fuel nozzle!!!! Truck only has 2000 miles and when I took it to my dealer they told me that for $700 they could replace it but not on warranty? I'm throughly UNIMPRESSED!!!!

Go to another dealer.....Bumper to Bumper means Bumper to Bumper or I thought. I would like to see the video on how to abuse a cap less fill spout.......HeeeeHeeeee

Thanks TCDiesel.......I hear ya. Thought the same thing, apparently bumper to bumper isn't really bumper to bumper? The service manage couldn't explain that either when I asked him the same question. Drove a Chev duramax for years. traded imy 07 Ram in for my new one and it was described by the salesman as one of the cleanest trucks to ever come across their lot. sold it in less than a week. obviously I don't abuse my vehicles. I would expect better from Ram!!! I've given the dealer this week to deal with it or they'll never see that truck again nor will they see my business or that of anyone I know. we'll see what happens.

Warrantys do not cover physical damage.I don't think you could find the terms bumper to bumper in any factory documents :-laf
