Time To Ask The Family For Help Thread Moved

Hey All,

I recently bought a Case 680E Backhoe / loader that came w/ the three stick & foot swing controls for the back hoe. I am trying to locate a wobble stick (2 stick) control tower for the backhoe (I am use to the 2 stick controls). Any ideas on where I can locate one? I think the Case dealer said the controls from a 680 G may also work on my machine.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I had a friend who runs heavy equipment all day help me put in my septic system when I built my house, we agreed to trade hour for hour where I work for him to pay him working for me.

He told me "get a case backhoe" so I did. He did not explain he really wanted "case controls". the case backhoe I got had JohnDeere controls, he has a heck of a time adjusting. He would be going along great until he got to a point where he was trying to scrap an inch or 2 out of the trench, then he would hit the wrong control and dig out a foot!

Yea, it takes alot of time switching back and forth to get used to it.

People don't understand, I try to explain it, switch your clutch pedal with your throttle and see how smooth you are in stop and go traffic. :-laf

Andrew,

I used to work at Southeastern Equipment, a major Case construction equipment dealership in Ohio. I changed a few 580’s over from 4 stick to 2 stick a vice versa. It’s a pretty easy swap, might take a little time the first go round. One thing to take into account is that the directional control valve for the swing function has a heavier centering spring for the foot control. When you eliminate the foot swing you need to replace that spring with a lighter one, also and easy job. Southeastern has a fairly large bone yard, at least that’s what I’ve been told, never been down to Cambridge. There is a good chance they might have something, www.southeasternequipment.com . All the controls for the 580 were interchangeable, I would imagine that to be the same for the 680.
