Right now I can lay a pretty good cloud, bascially because of the low stall converter. I'm running an EZ stacked with a SuperChip tuner and Stage II inj's. Will this help clear up the smoke? Turbo is a pdr HX35/12. I'd like quicker spool up, esp. when towing our travel trailer. I'd gladly give up the EZ and SuperChip to get faster spool up.

TIA,

Casey

Casey, the CaTCHER improved the spool up over the EZ on my truck. I can still lay out a big dark cloud if I'm to aggressive with the throttle but the boost rises fast & there is little smoke above 10 psi. The CaTCHER is the cat's meow for me.

Installed my Catcher special last night. Holy freaking cow what a difference. I was looking to gain back my responsiveness that I lost when I changed out the HTB2 for the Sledpuller 66. I've went way past that with this thing. I wouldn't even let the wife drive this thing unless the pavement was completely dry. It hits hard like a roots style blower.

mcoleman, are you saying that the spolup with the ECM and 66 is similar to the spooling with the HTB2 before the Mad ECM? NICE!! Mine is way faster to build boost, but the smoe starts a bit sooner as well. Small price to pay, just a little more gentle on the GO pedal unless provoked...

I've said that many times before. ATTENTION on slippery roads with the CaTCHER! Got myself into trouble too... If you have ears to listen... .

Sorry I spend little time here lately. I'm freaking busy here, tinkering with new toys... :D

Marco

Hey Bob and Marco, Thanks for helping me with my high idle problem.

Put it on saturday and no problems. This thing truly kicks#!@. :-laf

Any way time for new clutch to further my endeavors to the 400hp mark.

BOB do you have any cores or do I need to find one?

When whould you need it for your next shipment?

What is the compatability on cores does everthing have to match or can anything be written to work on a specific app sorry if this has been discused before in the other 98 pages of this thread.

Thanks for all the positive feesback :) getting ready to kick this program into overdrive :D

driving is believing :-laf

Yep, Anyone in my area that is on the fence is more than welcome to go for a spin with me. You will be convinced especially if you have driven or rode in a truck with a big charger before. My truck actually smokes less with the catcher as the boost builds much quicker but if I don't give it a second before standing on it I can blackout a 4 lane. And thats a valuable tool to have when your stuck in the middle of a bunch of soccer moms.

Just got off the phone with Bob, awaiting the arrival of the Catcher. All these happy campers can't be wrong :D

Will follow up with a review once installed, as if it is needed :-laf

cya,

Casey

Just installed mine. Wow! Way to go Marco!! Very fun!!

If the wife and I travel to Italy in the next couple years I will be sure to bring you a bottle of our finest Charles Shaw Merlot! ;)

Maybe you could call it S. H. E. E. T. (Smile and Hardon Enhancing Ecm Tool) :D

If there is any question whether you need a new LP, might as well change it out at the same time while you have the fuel filter out of the way. The ECM is located right next to it.

BTW,

I dont have boost elbow installed yet. What is max boost you guys are seeing with an otherwise stock ETH? Will I see anymore hp/accel with the elbow in or just smoke control?

CaTCHER arrived day before yesterday. Hopefully installing tonight or tomorrow. I thought there was some tips for the install, but alas, none in the box. If anyone has any info please share otherwise I'll probably figure it out.

Thanks Bob for delivering as promised.

Rick

Rick, it's pretty simple. It does help to unbolt the fuel filter & push it out of the way. There is a small allen head screw in the center of the connecter plug. I don't remember the size but it's small. Three small bolts (13mm?) & it's out. Let your motor cool down a bit unless you like burnt fingers. Took me less than half an hour & I'm a fumble fingers. :-laf Let us know how you like it. :D

Rick and other's, I apoligize for the lack of install instructions with this shipment. I wanted to get these shipped to you guy's asap because of some unforseen delays.

Most have called or emailed direct for the apps reset information.

again I am sorry for not including the install sheet on this shipment.

It will not happen again :)

customer service is #1 in my book

apps reset

Put key in ignition, turn to on position but don't start the truck, press pedal slowly to the floor and up 2 times, turn key back to the off position and then start it up---as per BOB Wagner instuctions. PS make sure you buckle up and hang on for one wicked ride :--) --DW

Smoking with the larger turbo

I had installed the Mad Ecm last fall, and it went (This old one ton was fast) It seemed like it took about 100 miles before it worked right. Someone said the ecms don't learn anything but this one seemed to take awhile (to work right) Is there something I'm not getting??? (I' m sure that's true)

Then I installed a larger Turbo, 4 (off the turbo) to 5" Stack. I didn't have the intercooler sealed up (there was a small leak), and now finally I have everything right (not 100% sure, but it seems very together) It goes pretty good, but not as good as when I had the stock exhaust (without the muffler) and the smaller turbo. I'm getting some low end smoke, and the torque is missing from the low end. I know you' all probably need more pieces to this puzzle but, What am I not checking??? When the intercooler was leaking, I was getting (quite a bit of) black smoke. Could have I fouled the injecters?? Would a bit of injector cleaner be in order here??

Darn it, it should run better!! What should I be checking??
