Rick and other's, I apoligize for the lack of install instructions with this shipment. I wanted to get these shipped to you guy's asap because of some unforseen delays.

Most have called or emailed direct for the apps reset information.

again I am sorry for not including the install sheet on this shipment.

It will not happen again :)

customer service is #1 in my book

Hay Bob,

Still waiting on your #1 customer service :-laf :-laf

I called you about a week ago and know call back

Whats up with that!!!!!

David :D :D

Thank's DW. Installed, fired right up, took it for a ride. All I can say is another satisfied customer. . A quick question for the gallery. I notice that off the line response, what an improvement. Minimal turbo lag with the stock HX-35. Boost hits 20 psi and that's all. Is the wastegate set to bypass at 20. What is the best way to defeat the waste gate till I get the 14 or 16 cm/2 housing. I'd rather not use a j-hook and turnbuckle if there is another option.

Thank's in advance

Rick

David, Last time we spoke you were very unsure that the the CatCHER would be an item that you would want to PURCHASE.

Remember our conversation?

Thanks

"Boost hits 20 psi and that's all. Is the wastegate set to bypass at 20. "

The stock set up opens the waste gate at 20 psi. You need a boost elbow. That's the little brass fitting that screws into the compressor housing with the line that runs to the waste gate actuator. TDR member Don Troxell sells an adjustable model for $15. He has had them listed on the classified ads on this site under "basement enterprises".

I had installed the Mad Ecm last fall, and it went (This old one ton was fast) It seemed like it took about 100 miles before it worked right. Someone said the ecms don't learn anything but this one seemed to take awhile (to work right) Is there something I'm not getting??? (I' m sure that's true)

Then I installed a larger Turbo, 4 (off the turbo) to 5" Stack. I didn't have the intercooler sealed up (there was a small leak), and now finally I have everything right (not 100% sure, but it seems very together) It goes pretty good, but not as good as when I had the stock exhaust (without the muffler) and the smaller turbo. I'm getting some low end smoke, and the torque is missing from the low end. I know you' all probably need more pieces to this puzzle but, What am I not checking??? When the intercooler was leaking, I was getting (quite a bit of) black smoke. Could have I fouled the injecters?? Would a bit of injector cleaner be in order here??

Darn it, it should run better!! What should I be checking??

Dean Give me a call tomorrow after 8:00am PST 888 225 7637, I would be happy to talk to you.

i think they were 10mm bolts and a 4mm allen.

JWBoothe, I saw 25psi on my ETH with BHAF and 4" exhaust with the comp turned off (just boost fooling), so even stock has some potential, and then you're adding some fuel with the ECM... hang on!

Rick, it's pretty simple. It does help to unbolt the fuel filter & push it out of the way. There is a small allen head screw in the center of the connecter plug. I don't remember the size but it's small. Three small bolts (13mm?) & it's out. Let your motor cool down a bit unless you like burnt fingers. Took me less than half an hour & I'm a fumble fingers. :-laf Let us know how you like it. :D

The bolt size is a 10 mm, and the allen head is a #4 (?). It is alot easier IMO, to drop down the fuel filter assy, might save ya from swearing so much..... :-laf :-laf

Yep, move the fuel filter, and yes, the bolt is a 4mm allen. Have I said this lately??-The Catcher is AWESOME!!!!!

BIG DITTO'S on the awesome comment above. Oo.

I can't imagine how one would do the exchange w/o removing the filter. I had a heck of a time getting the OEM ECM out past all the interferences - finally had to remove the 2 elec connections from the filter to snake it out. Getting the new one in was a lot easier.

I am another happy owner - now for the injector upgrade. :-laf

Next shipment to marco leaves Seattle on monday, there are 2 big events at the end of the month, so this needs to get back here asap.

anyone else for a swap?

Cruise control ???s

I have been reading this thread for 3 hours... But I missed something. Is there any new news on the electronic cruise control getting smoothed out? I have an 01 6 speed with the electric cruise, and I need it to work.

Also, are there any Catchers in Minnesota. This might be a hard sell to the other driver/check book balancer in the household since I bought a new stock ecm this winter when mine failed.

Thanks

Randy

I have a six speed also. The Cruise Control works flawlessly on my truck. Just don't let it try and make up huge differences in speed, it accellerates too fast. :D

Like Jason, my cruise control works great. I'll second his comment about resuming speed with the CC. It puts the hammer down with a cloud of smoke if I try to make up to much speed.

I have a speciality shop that is local here. That is where I got mine. The local Napa store has a fitting bin that also had a selection that would work. You need a needle valve with 1/8" NPT female threads and two 1/8" male NPTx1/8 barp fittings. Cut the rubber line going to the CC controler and install the setup between the two lines. Start with the valve opened 1/2 turn. It won't take long to tune it to operate properly. I had to stop 4 times and adjust it. The controler is under the DS battery so be sure to locate it where it is easy to adjust while you are tuning it. I used small ny-locs to secure the barb fittings to the rubber hose. Hope this helps, Mike.
