Catcher

Hi guys... . Installed mine 3 or 4 months ago, just haven't posted on it. Used to run my comp on 2x2 all the time, since installing the mad ecm I don't use the comp any more for regular driving. the MAD sure improves the driveability of the truck, really ballsy, I'd recommend it to anyone!

jdooner

Mods: Marv's Trans, ATS ex. mani, 4" exhaust, mach 1. 5s, SuperB, Comp, X-monitor guages, Catcher, Running boards, and last but not least, mud flaps... that's all I can think of for now.

Mine will be in the next batch Oo. Oo.

Got mine today like it so far, my nesle bar was melted but I froze it and ate it any way!

but... geting allot of smoke

had allot before READ old problem amlified by new improved ecm

never had any codes before but now I get the normal 1693 and then the nomal 0602 and 577? what is this one searched to no avail someone please tell me it is a bad MAP so I can change it and start having fun!!!

I am up to around 60k and don't have my FP gauge hooked up yet cause im waiting to do a bigline kit don't tell me a weak LP can make this much smoke

Before with the Power puck it was a little puff bettween gears if you got on it then last month it turned to a bigger puff and now with my new MAD box its like a 5x5 comp cloud what could this be???? THe truck smokes heavy till 1900 then clears but sort of stumbles misses almost is better if you let off to half throttle.

BOB, Thanks anyway I think this is a simple problem and not a result of your/marcos product.

Just finished installing mine and a test drive Oo. . Just a small puff when I take off. Its not like when the EZ was first added, but you sure can tell its there. It's probably from no boost. Will see how it acts next week when I hook 16K worth of 5er and 3 weeks worth of clothes, food and all that. About 26k worth including the truck. If it still smokes going up hills the EZ might come off and see how it runs. Bob said stacking the EZ on the catcher only added 3 or so hp. And I do have Geno's cup holder for at-least 5 hp to make up for the loss. Right  Thats what they said :-laf

Ps: I put my Nestle Crunch in the frig and just washed it down with a diet cola.

For the $250 or so I should net from selling my EZ on Ebay, I think I'll run the regular Catcher & put the $$ towards the Catcher purchase.

Keep us curious watchers posted Gla as to how it hauls.

Thanks.

P. S. Diet??? UGGAHH!

One thing I really like about it and that is the spool up. You just touch it and the boost is 24-26 #. I don't like the smoke. It's just unburned fuel. so we shall see... .

ps: The diet coke is better than insulin shots!! :{

The Fed Ex left me my catcher on the porch a few days ago around 2 oclock... . I said... . Wait until the sun goes down and its not 114 outside... Didn't listen... . All I can say is WOW Oo. Its hard to believe a 7000# truck can move that fast... ... Thanks Bob/Marco for the product and support. My Crunch bar was very melted and very appreciated as I froze it and smashed it up over some ice cream later... . I can make it smoke alot or not at all by judiciously applying go go juice... ... and found the pedal to not be as sensitive as I had feared... ... :)

Thanks again,

MIke

Took a while to get what every one said about having to roll onto it easy, getting used to the sensitivity and still think I need a new MAP.

At full pedal the boost will only go to 22 at 1 third it will climb to 28 and drop back down, not by letting off. does this mean that it is defueling?

I thought that was what I was getting was timing and boost fool so that I could eventually run bigger sticks and make the boost go up to 30-32 and hold as long as I continued to accelerate.

How much trouble is it to switch versions to a special?

Jeepmullet??

I gotta know. Are you a Billy Ray Cyrus look-a-like or what :-laf . Love the name... ... ... ... ..... Sorry for the interuption..... Back to our regularly scheduled program :-laf

The "special" CaTCHER has different parameters set so it will play well with a timing box. You won't get the full effect of the CaTCHER if you have a "special" without a timing box.

Have you tried a diet coke yet? ;)

You sure need a CaTCHER!! This thang is great. Drove to WVA without downshifting one time. I do set it in 3rd (locked) for the mountains. But hit the bottom at 55-58 mph and about 50 at the top. Also logged 13. 75mpg over the whole trip. One leg was 14. 5. This is about 1/2-1^ So over all I am very satisfied with it. Will probably leave the Edge EZ on; unless someone tells me it might kill the VP44!!

Interesting situation with an F-650 pulling a 5whl flat bed with about 10K. Half way up the mountain he was in the right lane at about 30 mph putting on a good smoke. So I pass him at 55 or so. This was a late model not an old clunker. Also on a city street young kids with boom box wide open, windows down and the wife is telling me to speed up and get away from them. No, I let up until the boost was zero and then punched it. The rice burner was engulfed in a black cloud of un-burned diesel and backed off quick :-laf . Any questions? :D

Bob, have you used your CaTCHERized Mach 4's on cruise control much? How's there manners?

my crusie has been perfect from the start, from what I have seen on other trucks is a steady foot is needed when the cruise control is applied.

sounds strange but try it.

and I will say again that the ecm that I had flashed over a year ago :D was the same exact ecm that I still have for my truck.

does that make a difference  I dont know, but there are lots of catchers running around

THIS TRIP IS ALL ABOUT TOWING EGT'S with Catcher and Mach 4's towing 30' 11K 5er on vacation
