Hi Steve, The second version Catcher was introduced for those that were running high tming boxes like the edge comp, twin turbo's and larger injector's.

There may be a fine line between Catcher version 1 and version 2.

I will let Marco address those difference's and if I can do anything else to help, please let me know.

From most reports back from the field is the second version is working quite well.

I know you and Carter have run both versions so you can feel the difference.

Hang in there, when and if there are tweaks to be made, you will be taken care of :)

Thank you

Bob,

I know I was supposed to get the version 2 Catcher but there was nothing written on the ECM to suggest that it was. Is there any way to tell?

Either way, the ECM works great.

I dont remember seeing a spl or special marking on mine?

I wonder well you know what was sent I have DD3s now and will be adding BD5 basically jammer fives since i can not get Don to loan me a test set.

Let me know if you get a plan as far as I can tell I am very happy so far :)

I've had my MAD ECM for 9 months now and the ECM don't like my edge comp. The truck surges, runs rough and gets terrible milage with the box on. I know i don't have the second version or special for mine. What do i have to do to get that programed in my ECM?????????

give me a call 888 225 7637

Great thank you bob and also I was not sure I knew we talked about it being the special. It runs great like I siad it ran 13. 20 with a bad reaction time and only DD3's

I just don't get it. Maybe I am stupid. Why do some trucks run great with version #1 and others don't. I am questioning in particular silverrams truck. His and mine and set up similar. Yes, it is true that I am running smaller injectors now (because of towing) but I have run all the way up to 2. 4's and had no issues such as surging, running rough and mileage issues. Maybe it's because I now run with my box off most of the time. I only have two setting, off or on kill (5x5) and when I turn it on kill, catch me if you can.

Maybe Marco will chime in about the difference in timing between the two versions. I personally am satisfied 150% with version 1.

I will once again remind some of you that I have run consistently 101+ in the 1320' in the low 13's and at Spokane ran 104+. For some reason I don't have and issues with version 1. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Well, the bullet has been bit. Ordered up the version2 and now I wait! If it shows up by 4/16, I'll try to do a same day/same dyno comparison. Not sure if I'll do Comp off or Comp5x5, depends if I get the external wastegate put together in time! Stock exhaust manifolds are not easy to come by, hate to leave my truck stranded if I screw up my manifold...

Roger,

That's a question I've often asked myself.

I think there are multiple answers to it. One COULD ( Means I don't know! ) be that not all boxes use the same software / timing advance. Another reason could be the VP. How tight are the timing tollerances among them? How much can two VP's differ in timing??? Again I don't know.

Again, the only difference between CaTCHER Version # 1 and "Special" is the timing. "Special" is less advanced in order to run with the timing boxes.

I liked what the timing of the Edge EZ did for my truck, but after swapping out to the CaTCHER version #1, I find the only reason to look back is for comparison. The EZ is good but the CaTCHER has perfect timing. After running mine for about 7 months I have had zero problems with the ECM. Good thing too since I sold my spare to a certain MAD programmer who took his apart one to many times. :-laf

Richard,

Your ECM is no longer... Already destroyed that one too. OPS...

The CaTCHER #1 HAS a really good timing. Took me more time than you might immagine and I care to mention to work it out. It's hard on the upper limit of usefull timing. That of course also means that adding more timing is a no no... :{

:( Aw gee whiz. It was such a sweet little ECM. At least it died for a good cause. :-laf

That's why I went with the Blue Chip APB as the most "reasonable" way to mess with my pump tap. ;) Now when I crank up the box, my wimpy injectors are like Popeye after downing a can of spinach. :-laf Now I need more air!! :D
