chad, I received your stockers yesterday and the ecm's will be included in the next batch to Italy for Marco to go through.

If yours can be used as a catcher core, I will have marco do his magic.

Bill's ecm will probably only used as an Italian frisbee :-laf

After reading this entire thread (yep, actually did), I'm pretty sold on Marco's MAD ECM. Am I headed in the right direction? Thanks for any help everyone.

;)[/QUOTE]

Congratulations on your reading! I've read all 105 pages too, but I've been at it since last summer.

I do believe you are headed in a very satisfying direction. As you may now know, The CaTCHER will give you about a 50 hp gain with a bottom end that will open your eyes. . Your stock clutch should do okay with just the CaTCHER but if you slip on the slope you will be shopping for a new clutch if you go more than mach 1 injectors. If you have a heavy right foot, that my even be too much.

Bob, you just took away my Catcher?

I am sorry but I didn't know if you were ready to do it right now and my phone rang from a member in new mexico that was ready to go.

He didn't even see the post here.

I am taking names for the next shipment, Marco already has the ecm's so the wait time will not be that long.

sorry :(

OMG!!!!!!

You actually read the entire thread??????

I bought about a year ago and have kept current on postings. But to read the WHOLE thing is masochistic :)

Well, welcome to the site.

I have tortured my transmission BTDR (before TDR) and have been able to limp it along to todays date. Your sumation on the performance of the catcher is correct. What is nice is the "power on-throttle" that boxes don't produce. I can't comment on the COMP as I haven't had one but the catcher is much more fun than an EZ.

This summer I will be upgrading my transmission, turbo and injectors (again) :) and will post on out come later. Talk to Bob, let him know what you are doing and I'll bet you get a straight answer. Mike

;) Now that would be a good use for that!

It's too light to make a good boat anchor

My CaTCHer should be here on Monday, unfortunately I won't be here until Thurs... :{

Bill, I still have your catcher here for some reason the postman says no way :-laf

I still have the ecm here

He he, clutch. My McLeod dual disk is done for. I'm scrounging my pennies for an SBC. It's a bummer that I have all this power an not enough friction material and plate pressure to use it on. I have to baby it everywhere.

Bob, got the CaTCHER this afternoon. I couldn't wait, so I did the ECM swap on a hot engine (ouch!!), installed the adjustable boost elbow, did the APPS reset... fired right up. The only problem is that I had no codes before... now I have P0602 and P0577. After a quick search on TDR, I think the P0602 has something to do with the ECM being disconnected and I can't find anything on the P0577... Bob or Marco any comments?

In the last 2 weeks I've installed gauges and a Scotty II, other than that the truck is straight piped, so pretty much a stock 2002 HO 6spd. Right away last week after the gauge install I noticed I could pull the fuel down to 5 psi at WOT. Should have already had the new lift pump on the way. Anyway, I've been watching the gauges alot this week, so my mind will really see any differences with the CaTCHER.

The test Drive:

Just like everyone else, first thing is WOW!!! I goosed it a little and hit 25psi boost going down the driveway. My truck has always been able to spin the tires a little, but geez... mashed the throttle in 3rd gear and it lit the tires! Took it down the highway... EGT's are the same as before. What really sucks is... I wasn't able to really floor the thing and do some acceleration runs... remember my 5 psi at WOT? Now I can easily suck it down to 0 psi. That's proof to me how much this thing is fueling down low. You better believe I'll have a new lift pump on the way tomorrow. Just goes to show the importance of gauges... I had considered in my mind getting the CaTCHER first and worrying about gauges later. Man, I would say that I'm more impressed than I could've imagined... it's definately like a different truck, and all this from a 10 min. test drive that I had to watch the fuel psi. I drive a 52 mile one way commute every day to Austin... can't remember the last time I was this anxious about getting up at 5 AM and getting on the road!

Oh, Bob & Marco the cruise control works perfect!

Just installed my Catcher and have question

I just installed my new Catcher with my Drag comp. Noticed that under full throttle the truck seems a little flat and if I let of the throttle by 50% the acceleration improves. It seems to happen to slightly different degrees depending on which Comp Level I am running. Could the timing be too far advanced, or too much fuesl? and yes it is the "Speciel" ECM for the Drag Comp. I had a coupe of occasions where the I noticed what felt like some "missing" under full throttle operation, but not every time

Bring mine too!

I don't know that he'd want to cross the pond, but if you're planning a visit Marco, stick mine in your luggage! Just don't tell them it's for BOMBing. :-laf

Really enjoying driving the truck this week... I can't get over how different it responds down low. My new lift pump should be here Fri. , then I can quit keeping my eyes glued to the fuel pressure gauge when I'm accelerating. I happened to look in my mirror today as I blipped the throttle leaving a red light off idle in 2nd... man I left a sizeable black cloud for the traffic to drive through.

I thought the catcher minimized smoke to some extent? If I get on my truck at a light with the comp on 5X5, I will be a block away before anyone else comes through the intersection the smoke is so thick :-laf . I'm still considering the special ecm so I can keep my comp.

I'm talking the difference from stock. With your injectors and wire tapped on 5x5, I'm sure there's lots of smoke. I'm just not used to looking in the mirror and seeing a cloud kind of just hanging there.

Since my special programmed CaTCHer is enroute (again), and I plan to hook my Drag Comp back up once I am sure everything is stable... .

Anybody have any insight on this???

I also have this problem. two days after I was up and running all the settings on my comp box provided the same amount of power. level 5 was the same as level 1. However the sub levels still worked

I tried a different comp box and no change. So,,,

I called Bob and decided to run the original Catcher and get a TST box.

I thought about this option but I like my comp and didnt want to eat a loss on it to get the TST. This does sound like the way to go though. Anyone have number's or input on this combo to include pulling heavy?

Sorry I'm sure it was talked about in this post earlier but I only have 2 hours to spare atm :-laf
