Hi Folks,
Getting ready to change the gear lube in the rear diff in my 2016 CTD 2500. I'm planning to use Mobil 1 Syn, 75-90. For some reason my manual does not list the capacity in terms of pints/quarts, so if anyone can supply that bit of info it would be much appreciated. TIA

Greg, have ya replaced either of your diff covers with a "finned type" yet? Just wondered? Olde Bob
My rear differential does not have a cover. It is part of the axle assembly. The entire carrier assembly is bolted in from the front part of the axle.

The front does have a cover, but I’ve not even shopped around for one.

My 4500 front differential holds about 5.5 quarts; the rear holds about 7.5 quarts. I don’t see any need for additional capacity with what it already has.

If you tow a lot you may want to buy the OE cover. Greg's new truck is a different ANIMAL.
