Well I did a search and didn't find anything so if everyone knows about this forgive me.

Anyway we installed cruise control in a 04 ST trim 2500 with the CTD and a 6 speed transmission for less than $100. 00. Wiring harness was already in wheel. Just needed switches and to tell the computer to engage the cruise functions. According to our Parts Manager who did the search the Manual just uses parts that are already in place only the switches need to be added.

I drove it and everything works great. Remember this is only a cure or option for ST manual owners, won't be the same for Auto guys.

I worked with www.mopar4less.com.

RIGHT HAND SWITCH #56049378AB-RETAIL $18. 79

LEFT HAND SWITCH #56049379AB-RETAIL $19. 91

1 hour charge for computer work at your dealership.

Good Luck

Questions & clarification

Thanks for your post. I am assuming that the right hand switch hads coast/ resume and the left hand switch has cruise & set? My truck already has cruise, but your post made me curious. I only want air/tilt/cruise for niceties and the heavy duty mechanicals for the rest of the options. .

edgrim,

What year truck was this? I've got my eye on an 04 ST 6speed, but it doesn't have cruise which is a deal-breaker for me.

Thanks,

-Vic

Sorry about the delay.

The truck was 2004 model ST 6spd so you can do the same thing, in fact if your buying from a dealer show him what parts you need and have them install and reflash computer:D

A cheap cruise control !!!

Cut an old broom stick off at about 24 inches and use your power seat for the speed adjustment.

i've seen used for cruise control a cheap old style bicycle gear shift lever with a cable going to the throttle/TPS to work as a hand throttle. now that is real cheap cruise control with no need to move the seat
