I have gotten to where I do like the looks of the new regular truck, but the sport is just ugly. That big of a grill needs some chrome on it IMHO.

I think I like it, I don't know yet. Once I see a picture of a real truck, i. e. 3/4 ton long box or 1 ton dually I will know whether I like it or not. It's too hard to tell with the urban grocery getter.

I think we can learn to like it... ... but they did not mention DIESEL! I guess this article was addressing the 1500 mostly.

I thought I read in a different post in here, that the 2002 is the new 1500. The new 2500/3500 are not til 2003. And Dodge is doing like Pherd. The 1500 and 2500/3500 will have different looks. Also maybe a new 4500 to compete with F450/F550 ??

Waiting to see pic's of a 2003 3500 4 door dually!!

I'm not so sure that I like the new look. I'm sure it'll grow on me though. The only new truck line that I still don't like is the light duty ford.
I have to say though that I immediately fell in love with the second generation Dodge in '94. I'm glad they continued it until I could afford a new one. #ad

The new look is not good. All the Pherd and Chubby owners at work say that the Dodge RAM looks the best. Several of the dedicated Pherd and Chubby owners now have Dodge RAM's. Like when Pherd changed the look of the Taurus... the car went from a sales leader to a sales looser...

Saw the 1500 Quad Sport up close and personal this weekend at the NY Auto Show. Wasn't even onm a turntable, just roped off, so you could walk up to within a foot or so of it. As I checked it out, I heard a couple of guys comment "Oh man, that's a RAM? I thought it was the Dakota!"

I will say this - the reason the truck looks smaller than it really is, has everything to do with the grille. If you look at the current Ram grille/front end, compared to the 2002, the current grille is just as wide but not as tall. The taller 2002 grille in a photograph gives the truck a seemingly "Dakota-esque" proportional look. But having stood next to it, I can tell you guys and gals flat out - the new Ram is BIGGER than the current truck, at least comparing a current 1500 to the new one.

One other comment... while I couldn't get in the Ram, I will say this: the only inhabitabvle back seat is the Ferd SD crew cab. The new Generic Motors HD truck seem to have LOST rear legroom in their crew cabs, and the new Ram Quad appears to be about the same size as the F150 SuperCrew - not small, but not a full-size crew either.

I like the storage idea under the center section of the seat, and the foldout metal floors in the back.

Never really thought about what a waste of cubic inches are under that center front.

And finally a power point in the console where the laptop was always supposed to go. That only took eight years.

I agree with the comment above, riding b**ch would be a b**ch!!

If the heavier trucks are going to look different than the 1/2 ton, then maybe this will be a similar situation to the fords--the 1/2 tons look butt ugly, while the super-duties look pretty good (my opinion).

While at PEET DODGE in Pahrump, NV saw the sales lit for the 2002 1500 Ram 4 door. They also said Dodge was going to build 4500 and larger trucks for 2003. Probably to compete w/ there own Freightliners. No info on engines yet

FYI NOTE:: if any one is looking for a new PROWLER or 2 they have 2 on the show room floor for $56k each, matched pair.
