Ok it may be an overkill but for 11 bucks and 15 minutes I’m not going to think about it anymore.

It might be overkill, but no one will ever accuse you of sloppy work!

Good job! :)

I put 2 inline filters just like what Fireman used (the ones for the VW fuel system). But my plumbing isn't nearly as neat as Bighorn's. Wow.

Say Bighorn...

on your filter set up, i was wondering where the two lines coming out the top of the filters are routed to? do they just run under the truck and hang down somewhere?

03 vent wide open

I checked/repaired mine last night. They were wide open. I don't know why I didn't check it when I dropped the tank for the vent mod install. Oh well! better check yours! Ken Irwin

Man I had my tank dropped last night. I wish that I would have paid closer attention to this thread so I could have done the fix. I'll have to get under there tonight

I just crawled under my 05 SWB. The nipple at the front is not in a depression but on a raised "bubble". That one you can see if you look over the frame. The one at the back feels like it is in a depression. Both are open.

Don't know when this truck was built but it was just delivered to the dealer last week. It was made in Mexico.

Going to do the two joined hoses with a T and VW filter thing. Good thread this one.

Not to cause alarm, but what would the Air Resource Folks think of faulty faulty fuel tanks, perhaps they have a better fix, maybe DC will have to retrofix, plus pay for vehicle lose of use, if required to fix same. Just a thought, maybe give it a try. Dodge Turbo Diesel owners have been laying on their backs too long. Scrum Down

Hey thank you to all you guys for the heads-up and great suggestions. This alone has made my TDR membership dues worth it. I checked under my 2003 LWB and sure enough two wide open nips. Went to Checkers and bought 10' of 1/4" hose (I really like BigHorn's installation #102), one tee, and one Fram G4164 filter. Will be done this weekend along with that pesky silencer ring coming out... ...

Decided to go with Twin Fram G1s for added flow and performance.

They came with hose clamps so I don't have to worry about those

babies blowing off either. :-laf
