OK. I searched the forums like a good little boy. I cannot find the key on key off procedure for checking the engine hours on our trucks (2000 - 2005 models).
I have even done it on the '05 before, but I am drawing a blank.
Im not 100% sure on this i think you turn the key to the run position push and hold your trip button for 5 or 10 seconds, your engine hours should come up.
I just crossed the 4000hr mark a short time ago at about 181,000miles. I would discount a used truck that showed excessive idling. I know most average 30 to 35 MPH, but mine has always been in the 45 to 45 1/2 MPH range.
This thread fascinated me so I checked my '06 w/ 5585 miles and found 156 hours @ 35. 8MPH. I then tried my Chrysler 300, AND IT WORKED! Even indicated "Hrs" in the window.
