Chime

My truck has started chiming intermittently when I'm driving. Sometimes often, sometimes a good bit of time between the chimes. It's not setting any codes, and I can't determine any specific driving conditions that set it off. Anybody else had this problem?

Soft light out, so short that even the dash warning light won't light up.
Very common on 3rd Gens.
If all bulbs are proven good the most likely one of the boards in the tail lights is bad.

It is the same chime I've heard before when a bulb was out. The left rear tail light assembly is loose and bounces around a little bit, so that's probably where the problem is. I'll check it out.

Only time I've ever heard the chime was when the turn signal didn't cancel or I put it on accidently. After a given amount of time, the chime starts up. It was difficult to figure out what was causing it at first.

I got a replacement rear light assembly from Genos. The bottom bulb in the old one was frosted and had gotten hot enough to melt its way out of the plastic holder and was dangling. I haven't driven it yet, but I'm pretty sure it was the problem.
