I'm looking for info on chrome engine accessories for my 98' 12valve. Any help is appreciated in locating and/or feedback.

The chrome kit is a Cummins product. I got mine from Geno's Garage, but I don't think they handle them anymore. There was a big backorder and we had to wait some time do they quit selling them. Check with your Cummins dealer.

I forgot to mention the first time. The kit has six valve covers, air intake horn, alternator bracket, and two heater pipes. The screws are stainless.

Joe, you doon't happen to have the cummins number for the chrome do you. The parts guy said he could look to see if someone might have some left over in their inventory. Thanks for any help #ad

Rocky,

I just bought the chrome valve covers (only). The Cummins Part # is 3804732. My local dealer seemed to have no trouble getting them for me. The kit includes gaskets and stainless mounting bolts.

Thanks fellas, it sure helps when you go with a part number. You don't get that deer in the headlight look #ad

The part number for the heater tube(s) is 3804734 and the Alternator bracket is 3804735. Mine were purchased in 1998.

Seems like the entire "chrome package" can be found under the 380473X series of parts. Hope it helps.

Looks like this thread was done a while ago. Anyone know if the kits are still available? Anyone know what they cost?

I'd go ask the parts guy at my nearest Cummins, but I really hate dealing with him. He seems to charge for parts depending on his attitude and how far the stick is shoved up you-know-where. The higher it's shoved, the higher the price!

Just got the valve covers and heater tubes today from Scheid Diesel. Good quality, are Cummins parts. They gave great service. Not sure if I can post prices but will try and see what happens. Valve covers were $139 for the 6 and the heater tubes were $35 for the pair. This is for my 93 but I think the 12 valves are the same. The covers included polished stainless bolts, O-rings, and a can of neversieze.

paccool,

The '94 and later 12Vs have a different air horn than the 1st gen trucks. The complete kit contains the valve covers, air horn, gen bracket, and heater tubes. If you get a chance you should get a look at Chuck Goode's '93. He has chromed everything but the driver as far as I can tell.
