Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) CJ-4 oil

It is interesting you posted about tractor oil. I went by Tractor Supply to see what the have. TSC carries bulk 15w40, but I can't remember the brand. IIRC, it had a CJ rating. I was really looking for a CI+ oil. What is the price per gallon of the Mastergold and do you use it?

What is the price per gallon of the Mastergold and do you use it?

I just started to use it as Delo is getting pricey ($38 at Costco) and the low emission stuff worries me in a high millage motor. It might been fine but it pours a lot thinner.



The Mastergold is about $34 for 2. 5 gallons. Our dealer does not mark up oil products. It has a thicker feel to it and a golden color.



This last oil change I switched from 3 gallons of Delo to 2. 5 MasterGold and 2 quarts of Lucas oil stabilizer. Yes that is more expensive than straight Delo but the Lucas seems to lubricate and stick better.



So far no complaints or odd pressure readings. I will have to see what it looks like after 6k miles.
