The seatbelts in my '92 D250 are in good working order but the former owner must have ended up wearing as much coffee and soda as he drank.
I've seen the pressure washer videos but until a friend who is a professional wrap and auto detailer of high end cars told me to try it I was leery.
I made a fixture of two heavy blocks of wood and stretched the assembly between them, screwing down the open ends with a large washer and wood screw. Applied a de-greaser and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
Used a 40º head on my pressure washer and toned down the pressure so as not to damage anything.
BOOM! The bottom picture is the "lap area" which was badly stained. I refer to it as "the black area".
It was pretty nasty looking. The interior of the truck is 100% original save for the headliner which I replaced with new material.
Belts look like new now. It was hard to believe the crud that came out of the webbing.
I've seen guys do them with belts still attached but I don't think you can do a complete job without
removing them. The hardest part is removing the trim pieces. I got a lot of experience on those when I had them out to fix the headliner. I fixed every crack there was. They're now good as new.

YMMV but I'm a believer.
