Also if you have driven around for a long time with the lower shock bolts loose for a while you may have ovaled out the holes.

thanks guys, yeah i called carli, still trying to get a hold of shaun. I didn't drive around with the bolts loose. but they were tightend on lift originaly and have been that way for a year still making noise until i loosend them on ground and re-tightened the other day. so maybe the bushings got messed up?

I noticed you have free spin hubs. Installed at the same time as the rest??

Might check if the wheel bearings are adjusted correctly.

I did freespins after this noise started. and i double checked bearing adjustment all good. thanks for the thoughts. I have it pretty much narrowed down the the lower shock mounts. They are supper tight and still making the noise intermitently.

Installed new shocks, re-tightend everything. only thing i found a tab loose was upper rear control arm bolts. test drove truck after re-installing unit hub bearing due to dynatrac bearing failure and it still makes the noise from time to time... it sounds like a loose caliper rattle, only when hitting moderate bumps. you have to have windows down to hear it. Any other thoughts? I'm going to take the track bar out again, to re-examine bushings and lock nut. . everything appears to be tight. . it is real mystery to me.

Try to keep a very open mind when looking for noises like this. I have chased suspension "clunks" only to find a loose body mount. I have also chased down rattles in the front end like you described and eventually found that it was the plastic fenderwell liner was vibrating over washborad situations.

Ditto on Skyd Ram. Last year I had a similar noise and it turned out to be the hood vibrating. Raised (unscrewed) the hood stop on the passenger side. No more rattle. Originally thought it was a wheel bearing.

i know what you guys are saying. . but it is coming from the front end for sure. has the sound of a loose caliper or a loose sway bar link, but it's not. . I'm going to take the track bar out next and check it over to make sure the lock-nut it tight. the noise started as soon as I installed calri starter suspension with trackbar. . truck never made it before that, and started as soon as i did install. It has to be one of these parts.

had a buddy shake steering wheel with engine running. I found that the track bar has slight movement at frame bushing, and about 1/8-1/4 inch movement at axle end. This is a carli adjustable trackbar. bolts are super tight and i even upsized to newer 08 track bar bolts. I have to take track bar out and examine the ends for wear now. this isn't right. I also have the 08 tie rod update and two of the tre's have up and down movement in them, no side to side play, they just pup up and down on steering input.

I'm going to put the stock track bar in to see if noise goes away... i will just go on process of elimination at this point.

If the frame holes have elongated you will

Have to repair that, you should be able to differentiate play

In a bushings bs hole problem before removing

The bar.

There should not be any up and down movement

In the tre,s

Thanks for the reply's guys... today i took the carli track bar out, everything looked fine. . the jam nut was tight. bolt holes not egg'd out, bushing nice, heim end was dry so i sprayed some grease on it (also tight). installed back in truck and tighted with 3 foot bar. truck still makes noise! I'm at a total loss with this truck! I'm going to have to break down and take it to a shop to see what someone else can find... but i think i have tried everything! it sounds like a loose caliper on the drivers side. . i even took that off and check it... all good.

transmission bolts fine , noise is deffinately coming from front end,,, i'm at my wits end with this truck, $5000 inand it sounds like a bucket of bolts when you hit a bump with front wheels... i'm now going to take it to my heavy truck front end alignment shop who does all my front ends to have fresh set of eyes look at it.

Had my front end shop look at truck today, only thing they found was play in the carli sway bar heim joints. I'm going to remove them all-together and see what happens. they only have about 10k miles on them.

If they are the problem call Carli and they will probably warranty them

Update on my truck that sounds like a box of marbles when you go down a washboard road... . I found very minor play in carli sway bar links and axle side of carli trackbar. I called carli and they SOLD me new parts. Installed, same noises... I can not find what this is... i am begining to think it's not in the front end because i have changed everything except the axle housing! But the noise started as soon as i installed the carli starter kit about 2 years ago and has make the rattling marble noise ever since... . the noise is most like the sound of a loose caliper, (yes i check them and changed the slide clips and mount bolts just to be sure) my next step is to go over the entire truck for loose bolts... any help would be greatly appriciated if anyone has had a similar experience. .

thanks!

Have you checked the rear shock mounting? If you did not get them tight enough the will egg out the brackets
