Is anybody using the Walker Airsep® closed crankcase breather? It looks like a pretty good unit, I'm wondering what kind of results anybody has had with it. And what did it cost? I e-mailed them, we'll see how long it takes to get a price back.

I've looked into it as well... . I think I was quoted $425 or so - with quite a long lead time becuase they are redesigning the system for our trucks.

Sounds like some good benefits - creating a slight vacuume in the crankcase and eliminating that blowby junk. Expensive, but hey, you only live once and it's only money, right!? #ad

The main benefit of the Airsep, from a friend who has one on his Gen. Telephone work truck,'97 CTD,is that you can drive on incredibly steep hills without pukeing oil out the blow -by. This is the reason GTE had it installed on his truck,he was losing oil and making a mess cruising on back country telephone lines. Don't know if the other benefits such as no smells or drips justify the cost, that's up to you.

when i looked into it last year i thought the price was over $500 , not worth the benifits to me . but i do need to move that useless bottle , when i do my cooling system flush this spring i'm going to pull my radiator and clean it , its full of grease dirt , i know becasue i found it on the piece of lexan i have blocking the radiator

If you're interested in something like this, take a look at the one made by Racor. It's cheaper, includes a filter so NO oil gets back in the intake, has a check valve so the vacuum doesn't pull on the line going back to the crankcase (only dranes when there's no vacuum), and has more mounting options.

I'll check the Racor unit. Airsep emailed me today, the unit is $425, with a 6 week lead time. It will last for 75,000 miles at which point it needs to be replaced at a cost of $99. Not sure if it's worth it or not. They claim more power, better mileage, cleaner engine, increased seal life etc. . I can see the benefit, but makes me wonder if it's that much of a benefit.

I believe the initial cost on the Racor unit will be cheaper. I know the maintenance cost will be cheaper (just a replacement filter for $35).
