clunk when breaking

first off let me say i love my new truck , but every once in awhile when iam breaking and just about totally stopped i hear a clunk coming from under truck, also when going really slow and let off throttle i get a clunk, my truck is std cab 4x4 auto any ideas thanks

When you brake, the rear end will twist in the springs ( axle wrap ). Common phenomenon in high horse power applications, only the other direction. When you come to a stop, it will stay wrapped up until you let up on the brake.

I bet your spare needs to be cranked up.

Ditto on checking the spare tire. What transmission do you have?

I had the same problem and couldn't figure it out until i went under the truck and started tuggin on things and sure enough all it was, was the damn spare.
