I have an 80 Porsche 924. The clutch was replace by the PO I'm not sure how long ago though. The problem is the spring center of the clutch disc broke dropping peices of the center of the clutch and a spring onto the pressure plate side of the clutch not allowing it to disengauge. It's an OEM Sachs cltuch I have a freind who has also had the same problem with 2 clutches. I want to know what the cause is before I replace the clutch. Thanks.

Links to pics of the clutch disc.

I had the same problem with the OEM clutch on my 97 wrangler TJ...

Tbis is the first time I've seen another that did the same thing...

Well, in the case of the jeep, I know for fact it wasn't abuse, it was actually quite scary when it happened... I was approaching a stop sign at a busy intersection, pushed the clutch in to stop, and there was a POP from under the jeep and Î kept on rolling right through the stop sign till I finally stalled it out with the brakes... Chrysler actually did warranty the clutch since it was definitely a workmanship thing... no heat marks on the flywheel etc...
