Truck threw its first code today, P2563 which has to do with the "turbo position sensor" according to my reader. I looked in the trouble code sticky above, and did a search, but came up empty. Any ideas on where to start? Is it as simple as replacing the sensor? If so, is it an easy job? Can I clean the old one? Etc, etc.

I had that code a few days before towing 600 miles(just over 40k on the truck). Truck seemed to run mostly normal and the dealer had first attempted a forced regen and turbo cleaning but the code came back the next day and they decided to go ahead with a turbo replacement. I used the truck for that trip and it went mostly well, the return trip home the variable geometry ring in the turbo seemed to be sticking pretty bad but I made it home. New turbo and things are good so far.

Mine is out of warranty, I can only imagine how much a new turbo costs... Unless it's considered part of the power-train, which I doubt.

It is part of the emission warranty, if you are under 100,000 miles and with in 5 years of in service date.

I'm within the 5 years, and I only have around 30k miles... I see a (dreaded) dealership visit in my future. I hate the dealer, I've never had one single good experience bringing my truck to the dealer. At least I can take care of the new tie-rod recall while I'm there.
