Hey guys, I know my new 24V 3500 is computer everything. On our 1st gen trucks is the charging controled by the puter ? Mine is now showing almost 3/4 on the gauge. Was @ 1/2 way for the past year or so. Its not as if its charging a weak battery, As the truck has not been shut off for the past 6 days. < I use an air operated Idle control @ 1100 rpm > I cary an extra PCM module in case mine pukes. Thanks in advance, Mike

David, The Voltage regulator is on the firewall for the 89-91 1/2 model years and controlled by the computer on the 91 1/2 to 93 models. Hope this helps.

Yes the computer controls the charging system in the 92 and 93 trucks. I don't know if you have a problem or not,(running 6 days stright!)maybe its just hot and not as efficient as it normally is. With the engine running the voltage at the battery terminals should be about 13. 4 volts.

Battery could be going south and the alternator is trying to compensate. For info, mine runs at the 3/4 level.

Thanks guys, I'll check voltage @ battery in the am. This used to register just less than 1/2. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks again Mike
