I Want A Turbo Whistler

Ceraland?

Fellow Rammers,

I'm looking for a good place online to purchase computer components (ie. motherboard, processor, case). I've built computers before in the past and now I need to build one for a friend. The advice I'm seeking is those of you that have built your computers where do you order your Pc goodies from. There are so many sites out there and I want to make sure I avoid the more questionable ones. Any info would be appreciated...

Thanks

Joe

www.mwave.com is one of the best IMO! fast service and most times the best price. I live in moab UT and most of the time I get stuff on the third day... from cali... . they are good about returns too.

Tiger direct is not good about returns.

Tiger direct will only give you a store credit or replacement on a return. They will not give a refund even on an un-opened package. I used to buy from them but after they would not give me a refund once I said no more. I have had good luck buying from people on Ebay, just read their feedback before bidding or purchasing.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I'll check out mwave and ebay and go from there. I'll let you know what type of deal I end up with. .

http://www.newegg.com/

That is the best place I have found. Prices are about the same as anywhere else. The return policy is real good. No hassles if you do need to return anything. I have built around 15 computers the last couple of years from there.

If you are going to buy SCSI components then this is the place to buy them from.

tigerdirect is slow on sending a replacements also.

Thanks for the great info. I knew there was a lot of sites out there but I didn't think there were that many:D  . I think I've decided on a motherboard after reading Tom's Haradware reviews. I'm going to go with a MSI K7N2-DeltaIISR with an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ and 1GB of DDR 400. Now, I just go to decide what type of video card and how much my friends willing to spend;)

AMD is a good choice

I like the Asus motherboards. They have never let me down and have quite a few built in features.

I will second JConley's vote for pricewatch. A couple of the guys at the office have used them with good success.

I also use the Asus motherboards.

If you are looking for a nice video card, Check out the ATI All in Wonder. I installed one in the last PC I built for my dad. The video card has a remote for the TV DVD, and the mouse. Way COOL!!
