Pulled the 5ver last weekend and never heard the fan kick in, with 198k on my 95, I guess it's time to change the fan clutch. What are my best options for a replacement unit? I didn't see one on Genos website.

Also I suppose that the water pump would be a good thing to a preventative maintenance replacement as it too is original. What's the best one? I did see this one at Geno's.

My radiator is original, it's been flushed two or three times over the years, cant' remember exactly. I was thinking I'd flush it once more and replace it maybe next year as funds permit, suggestions?

The truck runs fine, no overheating but I want to be prepared for the heat.

As always, thanks in advance.

Don't waste your time or money on a parts store rebuild. I went thru 5 or 6 of them before I finally bought an OEM from mopar4less. They either wouldn't fully engage or would sieze up and be engaged all the time.

If the radiator isn't leaking just remove it and clean it thouroughly on the outside after flushing the system. That would be the time to replace the pump, if you feel it is necessary. The last one I bought was from NAPA and has lasted as long or longer than the two genuine Cummins I installed previously. Don't forget the thermostat and a new radiator cap. I recently did the flush and clean, replaced all the hoses and added a bottle of Purple Ice to the antifreeze mix, then went on a 14,000 mile test drive. One of the legs was pulling a new TT from Lancaster (got covered with ash and spent an hour breathing smoke), across the desert to Kingman, then up into the CO mountains. I never saw the gauge go over 190.

Thanks for the great info. Yes my thermostat and radiator cap are the factory originals, I will add those to the list. I have been contemplating the Purple Ice. Saw it at Napa but hadn't heard any reviews on it. My temps last weekend were well over 190, they were just shy of the red line. I will do the fan clutch asap.
