Most of the issues od 2Wd vs. 4WD are here in these previous posts so I wont rehash them, I agree a 2WD diesel is pretty useless off road because of the amount of weight over the front wheels (that Cummins is heavy), to compensate for that on the rare occasion I do go off the pavement I fill a couple barrels of water behind the rear axle, that changes the whole weight ratio and with those big off road tires on the rear it will go about anywhere I want, back on pavement I just drain the water and enjoy the fine handling and economy of a 2WD.
