Crank Crank Crank Crank Crank Crank Crank Crank  That’s all I have heard for the last two days at the dealer. A customer brought his truck in to the dealer to have the fuel filter replaced and check for running funny with a check engine light on. One tech replaced the filter then left on vacation then another tech got it for the check engine light and running funny concern. The tech replaced the lift pump because it had no pressure at the filter  I asked the tech how do you know this? His answer 9 I removed the brass fitting on the fuel filter and nothing came out) Now the thing just cranks for about 20 to 25 seconds before it starts. Believe it or not I asked what he was going to do next and he told me another fuel filter?????? I almost fell over when he told me that and I asked how did he come to this? His answer (It started find before replacing the filter) I then said did you check pressure pre and post filter with a gauge? His answer (no) So I ask does it have codes? His answer (yes) o. k. what codes? His answer (injection pump timing) I can see how dealers get a bad name!!!!! When everything is pointing in one direction and the tech goes another. I was going to help him out till another tech right in front of him told me stay away from him!! I asked why? (I just started working here myself so) The tech told me that the tech working on the truck thinks that all Americans are idiots! I think he needs to rethink what he said, but I feel sorry for the customer!

maybe it will still be under warranty when it needs a new starter, cause you know it will be back when the VP finally crashes...

sounds like the VP44 already crashed. Same symtoms I had. Had a new VP44 installed Monday. Runs better now tha it it new.
