ISO 2013 Steering box advice

Fuel filters, only use Mopar. Air Filter, only use Mopar or Fleetgaurd. So from what I understand Mopar and Fleetgaurd are the same.
So I’m at 65k and it’s time to replace the crankcase filter. I’ve read somewhere that if you go cheep you could have major issues because the filter internally could melt. The Fleetgaurd ones are way cheaper than the Mopar ones. Are they the same filters just with a different name on them? Or just go Mopar all the way? Are you replacing the valve cover gasket or is it a rubber reusable one?
Thanks for your knowledge and advice.

I remember somebody insisting to me that I should only use Mopar.. and I asked them if they ever looked closely at the Mopar fuel filter on the engine( this is a used MOPAR boxed filter) and noticed the Cummins logo and the Fleetguard name embossed in the filter?. answer is really either or both are the same except for the packaging..

I have read some reports where people said they used an aftermarket air filter and had issues with it setting a code, but all I have used for air filters is 20 dollars Frams from Walliemart on my truck with 160k miles and it hasn't caused any problems..

Check in your owner's manual, the crankcase filter change is at 120,000. that what it was on my 14

usually you get the Service Warning light somewhere around 65000 miles for that device.. what is it though, two taps of the go pedal and two taps of the brake pedal and it clears the warning?

also interesting to note that if you used a Cummins Service manual, it doesn't not call for replacement at that point but gives you the choice of inspecting the CCV filter or replacing it..

in other words, unless it is plugged with sludge it doesn't necessarily have to be replaced.

I would buy from a reputable source and Amazon is not one of them anymore. Between them and eBay counterfeit filters run rampant and the fakes are looking more realistic by the day.
thats your story and I suspect it has been fomented by Amazons competition.. :) ., I generally buy the Fleetguard stuff from Amazon with no problems..
Amazons return policy is so good if I suspected something was counterfeit I would return it, but I've never had that problem yet.. Ebay is a different thing..

We use Baldwin CV15010's on all our buses and trucks with the 6.7's. Haven't had a single issue and they're quite a bit cheaper. We have used 104 of them year to date.

honestly, people get all hung up on OE stuff when plenty of good quality aftermarket brands offer alternatives and most of that fear is derived from good marketing and little personal experience on the end users part..

Fleet I worked at bought whatever OEM or aftermarket filter was available at the lowest cost..
over the years I saw every name brand of filter available used in place of the others with no discernible difference in end result...

I saw Donaldson, Fram, Wix, Luberfiner,Fleetguard, Baldwin etc used in the same applications which led me to decide that when a difference makes no difference you might as well use the cheaper version and the second thing I learned was when you shop around ( my employer had purchasing agents who did the search) you may get OEM cheaper than alternative brands.
