cruise control doesn't work

I recently purchased a 98. 5 and the cruise doesn't work at all..... the light in the dash will not turn on. The fuses are good by test light. The two steering wheel switches were bad by the tests in the manual, so I replaced them with no change. My mechanic scanned the system and no codes were found.



Any ideas????

Welcome aboard friend,



I wanted to get rid of the ding ding when my door was open so I disconected the wiring from the dinger under the bolster by your knees and guess what ? no cruse, so I hooked up the dinger and it worked again



also it may be a bad clock spring, but when mine was bad the idiot light came on and said air bag ... ... ... ... . good luck
