Mine was replaced under warranty back in 2016, and a year later it started acting up again. My temp fix is to do a medium thump of the steering wheel with my hand and it will start working again (sometimes 2 or 3 thumps). This usually fixes it for 15 to 20 starts, then it needs another thump.

Cool I will try the THUMP method!

Just install the upgraded part and call it good,V06 complete and no welding.

Part of the V06 procedure is an alignment, better tell them you don’t want the toe/caster set back to stock if they work on it.

I have two more years til I hit 100k and warranty runs out so it's going to stay stock for now. If they touch it I will insist they don't adjust the alignment.

The upgraded part is stock, and what they replace it with if yours fails the torque check.

Yes, I just meant leaving it in stock form. What part number did you use? I know mine will pass TQ test as my NUTS are TIGHT at 50,000 miles since I had the alignment set to "PROPER" setting.

I have no idea how to look for codes???

You do know how to do the key trick on your truck?

I think this works on the forth gen's also. If it does, look in your owners manual to be sure. The manual will outline how to turn the key and where to look for the display of the DTC codes for your truck. Also if you have a code reader this will help greatly and easier to obtain them.

I purchased my code reader from Amazon and this will work on all of my vehicles. Which I have used several times, will worth the investment.

Someone said if I had a code the check engine light would come on. No reader, I have a fob. Guess I should learn this stuff as I assume it applies to my 01 also.

NOT much of an electronics guy!

Ron, You really dont have to be much of an electronics guy, thanks to great YouTube, Internet and the TDR. I and many here on the TDR recommend the AlphaOBD, OBDII Bluetooth WiFi, and your smartphone.

Whuts nice about whut I mentioned is it's not VIN locked to a single vehicle. We're standing by to assist.;):D

Cheers, Ron

Nothing lights up at all.

I’m guessing trip to dealer. I have MaxCare so it should be covered.

Only bad thing is I don’t want the drag link welded.

As mentioned I have no idea how to check codes.

The dealership I use told me FCA got so much backlash over this that you can decline the weld.
This was after mine had been welded previously.
