DO NOT hook up to a ball on either truck - it's a great way to get killed! Put the strap into your reciever and put a pin through it or use a clevis.

Don't worry... Be Happy...

You worry to much, like everyone says, you can beat him stock... I was at a party back in 04 when I just had a intake and exhaust with the bully dog power pup and my stock clutch, I had only had the truck for like 4 months and this Ahole kept braggin on how his 04 Maxipad would drag and pull me around like a toy and I was like what ever for the longest time, but I was getting tired of hearing his drunk butt and was getting pressure from my friends, so we went behind Wal Mart and I drug his butt for about 200 feet and then something let go in his T case and that was that... . Funny Part is, now he owns a 07 Dodge... Saw him at the bowling alley just this last thursday and I went up and shook his hand and said "you finally got a real truck I see"...

Man, Toyota Boy is running short on brains to up the bet to $1500!

Just on stock numbers alone and the weight of the trucks, you have a significant advantage. He's been watching too many Toyota commercials!

I'd have a tonneau cover on the back, or he's going to cry foul and insist you unload the bed of all the topsoil.

If he wants to mount a supercharger and then do a re-match, you'd still win!

Just take a deep breath and relax, he is no match for the Cummins.

Think about it- you have almost 600 ft lb @ around 1600 RPM, he has what, maybe 300 @ prolly around 5-6,000 RPM!

DO NOT HOOK TO THE BALL

DO NOT HOOK TO THE BALL

Make sure everything is warmed up before you pull.

It's not the horsepower that wins this type of match, it's the torque... and his is developed at high rpm. When the tires are spinning. And there's no traction. Because YOU are dragging him backward. Your's is MORE, and developed off idle. DSTSS (Don't Sweat The Small Stuff)

I see that you are from Sacramento, please drag that Toy over to the race track. This would be fun to watch while we are cooking our chorizo back in the pits!:D

The toy has 400 ft/lbs of torque. Im sure it comes up alot higher in the powerband. You got him by 200 ft/bs stock. Should be an easy win.

Is everyone overlooking traction? Does he have stock tires? An extreme example: If you're on ice and he's on dry pavement, he will pull you. If he has super tires with locked differentials and you have stock tires and open differentials... . Just a point to think about.

I imagine this pull will be on the same surface but the toy IF it has Big Tires still has toy axles and drive train IF toy has good traction wonder what part will snap first.

I hate those stupid Toyota commercials to the uniformed it appears these new tundra's have SO much torque and power. I really like the one with the cargo container hanging over the Grand Canyon. That is why you once in a while see an idiot with a toy pulling a way over sided camping trailer.

Get R Done

You ahve him. . Even if he is heavier, even if his hitch is higher, even if he is in 4-low.

Just go at it, and be happy bud. You aren't going to kill the drivetrain no matter what. Even if you go WOT and just drop the clutch in 1st gear and 4-lo. You will pull him.

Unless you slip the clutch to high heavens, you will be fine. Once teh OE clutch starts to slip, it just lets go, and there isn't much you can do about making it hold better untill it cools down.

All you have to worry about is actaully smoking the clutch. Otherwise you will be fine.

I have some very good news and some not so good news. The good news is I am $1,000 richer going towards a SB DD clutch and my buddy is $500 richer. Oo.

This morning I was at Home Depot loading 50 bags of top soil by myself into my truck when my buddy called. He said the kid want to tug right now because he can not do it tomorrow due to a gulf tourney or something up at some exclusive club in Lake Tahoe/Reno area. I told him to meet me at that road we agreed the other day in 30 minutes. Man I had sweat running down my forehead and my back was hurting from loading up 30 bags of top soil. #@$%! I told the lady at the store that I will be back for the other twenty later this afternoon.

Well I showed up and there his rich a** wearing a fancy Rolex with his new shiny Tundra Crew Max and two of his rich friends. My buddy managed to borrow a heavy strap about 12ft long. I switched the transfer case selector to 4L and made sure the transfer case engaged before I backed into his rear and my buddy did the hook up. The height of the hitch were about even.

Smarty SW #3. I shifted into 1st and we took up the slack. I stood on the brake rev it up to about 1K RPM, my buddy said “go” and he hit the gas. My truck did not go anywhere. It just moved about two inches. I could hear his engine begging for mercy. I slowly released the clutch till I felt it engaging a little then slowly releasing the brake and clutch till totally engaged and gassed up to 1,600 RPM (the footwork my budy and I practiced yesterday). I did not notice any movement of the vehicles since I was busy watching the RPM and other engine vitals and when I looked outside the truck I could tell I was moving forward and his truck was ever so slowly moving with me. I could not believe how easy it was to pull his truck. By this time his tires were smoking and engine revving to a very high RPM and was louder than my Cummins. I kept it at about 1,600 RPM till we were about 50 yards from were we started. I won round one without a sweat. :)

Since the agreement was the best of three tugs, I made him feel good by giving him the second pull knowing I can pull him all the way to San Francisco bay. The third pull I dragged him to the next street corner. My buddy came over shook both our hand, I shook his and my buddy gave me the $3K in cash. Drove home and unloaded the 30 bags of top soil and went back to Home Depot and got the other 20 bags. I will give my buddy’s $1K back tonight. This was the easiest $1K I’ve made.

The bas news is my son is still in LA with both cameras as he was not scheduled to arrive till tomorrow morning... damn! Sorry no vids or pics this time... not my fault.

This kid just can’t get enough and he said he wants a rematch after “I do some modification”. I’m not sure what kind of mods you can do with these engines but I told him maybe. I did offer him a ride to the Dodge dealer. :-laf

Tell him to mod away to his hearts content! Whatever dude! Tell him to find another Crewmax and then you can yank around the 2 of them... . at the same timeOo.

Most people don't know what chorizo is, but we do chicken, shrimp and chorizo fajitas over an open fire ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, good stuff with peppers, mushrooms, onions etc

Anyway, quit sweating, there is no comparison!

I have heard from a friend that works on Toyota's that the new tundras have serious transmission problems.

I knida wonder what modifications he was planning on. An intake??? ooooo Thats enough to take a cummins! :-laf

Are you serious? With one ton of cow dung, and he didn't smell trouble?

You could have eaten him alive in 2wd, first gear, at idle. His truck is what, 6000 lb? The more he spins the tires, the easier it is to pulll him.

You could even let him start pulling you, then slowly apply the brakes to cause him to start slipping, then ease the clutch (and brakes) and drag him.

AH, but you see, you fell into the fault/trap of figuring a Toyota owner dumb enough to challenge a Dodge/Cummins owner into a pull-off would realize that a LOADED Dodge would have a traction advantage... :-laf:-laf
