I think the 420 is correct, and wondered why Chrysler's using the 430 number. So we have “official” sheets showing 400, 420, and 430.
Gotta love modern marketing.
CP3, CP4, or C-3PO?
probably old stock photo edited upCP3, the access cover for the pump gear's nut is back on the front cover.
I agree. No matter the heat in Az, 110+, the AISIN never gets above 170-175. Incredible. The 68 RFE would climb right up to 210 in a heartbeat. Although 210 is not damaging, I'd prefer 175.Towing our home on wheels West 20 TX right now. It’s 41 out and trans is running 163. If it were 100 the trans on a long 6% grade may get to 170. So that’s just one reason.
Only 34k combined
I tow heavy a LOT, and the 68 in my truck has never been that hot, not even close.I agree. No matter the heat in Az, 110+, the AISIN never gets above 170-175. Incredible. The 68 RFE would climb right up to 210 in a heartbeat. Although 210 is not damaging, I'd prefer 175.
Right, they went to the trouble to Photoshop on a 2019+ EGR valve, turbo, water inlet & inlet, etc, too. You got me.probably old stock photo edited up
That Dmax looks scary! So much more intimidating to work on than the Ford 6.7. I mean look at that front accessory drive!
And what’s going on in that hydromatic too?!
I see 4 idlers on the one belt. That’s quite a liability as they do go bad, especially in salty conditions. So that link belt runs a PTO? I guess. I dunno. I just looks more busy than any other Dmax I ever saw. That’s Ford’s job- to look busy.Just two belts, one runs the fan, the other runs the accessory drives.
Not sure what you ask about the allison trans, it has an external PTO if that's what you're talking about.
I wonder if they will turn the wick up in the BinderMax trucks?
That’s an excellent observation. I see a PTO/ hydraulic pump on the trans, but that UFO in the rear driveline?I don't think they make a class 3. I don't see any upgrades to the class 4-6.
Anyone know what this gearbox looking thing is on the Ram, rear most drive shaft? Drive shaft retarder or two speedscroll down to about mid page.

Looks like it...appears to be an output flange above the outlet to the final little section of driveshaft. My WAG is it's another PTO transmission?
