2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission cup smoothy holder and getting the console lid to close??

what is the trick to get the door to work easily on the center console when you install the Geno's cup smoothy holder???????????????? I did a search and did not come up with anything, but do remember reading about it a long time ago.

you have to re-adjust the post to allow for the additional thickness of the cupholder..... just loosen it a few turns ... enough to allow it to "catch"... . you obviously will have to experiment until you find the correct height sufficient to allow closure... ... . i used vise-grips..... good luck!!! tom

Thank you all for your quick response, after posting I went to throw the box away and found instructions that I did not know came with the cup holder and did exactly what you all said to do. Hope this may help others as well. Working fine now. Thanks Ed
