I am wondering if anyone has dashboard covers in the 3rd gen's, especially in taupe. A buddy has them in his furd and they look pretty good, but the main reason is for practicality... we have very big dashes and the cover would allow you to set items above the glove box and not be sliding around. Any comments or Pic's would be nice.

I cut a piece of the black waffle-type drawer/shelf liner to fit the tray above the glove box. (Mine has a black dash. )

FWIW, I use another piece to cover the center-seat back when using the laptop/GPS combo on trips. I've also used some to pad the steel load floor and keep "stuff" from sliding around.

Not only does it give a good, non-skid, non-glare surface, it's cheap and easy to clean.

The dealers' parts dept can order you a custom dashboard cover. Cost is between $50 and $60 depending on where you are in the country. The parts dept will have a selection carpet color samples so you can take them out to your truck and see which one you like best. Surprisingly, the color sample for "taupe" DOES NOT look good on the dashboard. I finally selected "medium grey" to go with my taupe upholstry, because I thought it matched best. When I went back to the parts counter, the parts guy said: "Most taupe owners choose 'medium grey. ' It matches the best. " Once you order and pay, it takes about a week to 10 days for your cover to arrive.

I bought my dashcover (Grey) at a flea market in AZ. . You can see part of it in pictures of my X-Monitor in the gallery

Yes, I ordered Taupe color. If you look in the reader's rig there is a picture of part of the cover with my SIRIUS antenna sitting on it.

Medium Gray?

I'm sorry but Medium Gray and Taupe may be in the same general ballpark in color, but to my eyes those colors totally clash (not trying to knock your taste in color Skip ;) ). I tried gray tones against the carpet and upholstery in my truck when shopping for carpet mats and dashpads and the gray does not "go" with Taupe at all! Taupe has brownish/tan hues, gray does not, that's why gray doesn't work for me.

Basically what needs to work is a pale tan with a touch of gray.
