Competition DYNO get together in PA

In any from of motor sports information is the key to obtaining maximum performance. The ability to tell what you vehicle really did during the run, or possible dyno run is critical to knowing what to do next. What you perceived, and what actually did transpire is sometimes very different. The ability to look at critical elements is the way the pros make it look so easy to get to the next level. Just a thought, the data logger I use is on the web page I attached, its done by a guy that designed and market one of the big data loggers , before he sold out to auto meter . He is now building ones for the little guy small inexpensive and easy to use. For $ 395 you get engine rpm drive shaft rpm and soft wear to down load to a lap top. http://www.rpmperf.com/index.html

the ideal of this one was an affordable small one , a fully loaded one with accelerometer and all would cost about $1200 where as the other one he did with auto meter with all ever thing the same is around 2800 and with a total array of channels , like on my comp car could easily run $5500+

So true. There is no way to see what is happening during a run. Invest in a data recorder. You will find many more things to spend money on, but it will make it go faster.

Many people ask me about EGT's ect without realizing how you have to drive and watch the road at this power level, I so use a tell-tale boost gauge and an air temp recall box but this would be so much nicer, think how a vendor would like to see two graphs back to back while doing R&D... ... . I think I'll have to make that 15 mile drive to go talk to him.

Went over and spent some time with Randy today and talked allot about the data loggers, for me this will do everything I want it to do and then some, it looks like I'm going to go with 2 egt's, 2 temps, rpm, and 2 pressures, one drive or boost after the turbo's and one total boost and a remote turn on button, next years R&D will take on a new meaning when a guy can download the software FREE and I can E-mail him the before and after data.

I will watch gauges no more... . old school, it will be nice to see what is happening ever 10th of a second, thanks Greg!
