While I'm waiting for my truck to come in (on the rail in Nebraska right now) I occasionally drop by the local dealer and check out the trucks. Today I stopped by and found an 01. 5. I popped the hood and spent a few minutes checking out the beast within. One of the first things I noticed was that all of the clamps are now spring loaded with heavy duty springs. This should resolve the problem that many have been having with loosening clamps. I'd bet a buck or two that you could probably bring your trucks in to a dealer and get them swapped out for free. Probably worth a try as the dealer's parts department will likely want ten bucks a piece for them!

Anxiously waitin' for my 2001. 5 2500, QuadCab, 4X4, LB, HO, 6 spd, 3. 55 sure grip, SLT+, Agate leather... Ordered 9/5, I'll update when it gets here.

Well it's a start, but DC actually only took care of half the clamp problem. If you look a little closer,DC only puts clamps on one side if the intercooler setup. The Air Cooler to intake hoses have the normal clamps. What s'up with that DC!

I just got back from a great trip to Colorado and had one of these damn clamps come off repeatedly. Turned out the nut was stripped. I ended up using a cheap hose clamp off my RV dump hose. It lasted the whole trip. It might be a good idea to carry a couple of these in the goody box.

You've got to wonder how much crud gets sucked into your engine when one of the intake hoses blow off. Seems like DC would of figured out a way to correct this long ago inorder to not shell out more warrenty bucks.

Took delivery of my 2001 two weeks ago and it has spring clamps at both sides of aftercooler. Only on-spring types are on the cooler inlet and outlet. #ad
