Does anyone have a diesel dynamics exhaust system on their truck. Ive heard the WAV files they have on their website, does it have any drone at speed. THanks

LJolley:

I have the DD 4" exhaust on my 96' Dodge CTD.

I have the "Walker" #21471 muffler and my system

has no drone at all! DD used to sell a "shorty"

muffler with that system and it is my understanding

they had a slight "drone" on some trucks.

My system has a nice "throaty" sound at idle

and is louder than the stock system once you

are rolling but it is not offensive. And, I can

hear my radio and carry on a conversation inside

the cab with no problem. Joe Donnelly has this

system on his 600 H. P. Dodge CTD!

Hope this has helped you!

I have one on my 94 3500 4wd. It is quiet enough without any droning. Before that,I had the factory exhaust without a muffler and it was built without a cat. I didn't think that was too loud but some of the people I passed were sure surprized!

There are others to choose from that I know nothing about. IMHO,the DD exhaust is a very high quality product. I am happy with mine.

Hope this helps

I have one on my 2001... I have to agree with the rest of the guys, I love it. I don't even know what a drone is really. I will tell you that if you drive by a wall on the exhaust side at WOT with the passenger window down it sounds freaking great, like a big rig.

I have the DD 4" on my '99 SWB. It drones around 2000 rpm. I called DD to have them fix the drone and they offered to sell me a second muffler for $75 (supposedly his cost) and 10 to ship it to me. I found someone with that same 2 muffler system (Walker 21471 and added Dynomax 17225) and bought the Dynomax myself for $60 from Summit (so much for his cost). The second muffler cut down on my out the pipe whistle but the drone persists. I am going to get a EpiFlex connector and see if it cures the problem.

4" resonator fixed mine......

I had the Jardine system and bad drone. The resonator fixed mine right up. But as I posted on some other threads

I feel that if you just mounted the muffler as far forward as possible that it would probably do the same thing. I think the problem is worse on the long wheel based trucks. That longer length of pipe is where the drone comes from. If anyone could get their pipes apart and try this I would like to see if my theory on this is correct.
