I have to wonder how much of this dead pedal issue is due to emissions concerns, and an effort to generate less particulates for the dpf to handle. I know deleted trucks will blow a good cloud of smoke if the loud pedal is stomped on, even with moderate, or "stock" tunes.*

Is the PCM flash 18-015-17 available for the 2014 2500 model? From what Bob4x4 listed my truck could use it.

It does not apply to the 14, the latest tsb that I am aware of is tsb 18-054-16.There is a long list of what it addresses but not the same as the 17 list.
Generally speaking the tsb's are good to have done.

So where are we on the dead pedal issue today. Dodge called me today as I reported it and my USB port not recognizing any song producing device as its supposed to and she pretended like no one has ever reported this before. I cant believe that this hasn't been reported over the couple years of complaints I have seen and the likelihood that it is just TQ management. Also, I understand that someone had a Nissan with cummins motor and a simple flash update fixed the same problem with that vehicle.

Well, I'm still driving my Jeep Liberty CRD cause the deadpedal in my truck is so darn aggravating. I'm still waiting for a call back from Chrysler.....that will never come.

After I reported the problem to our government and opened a case with FCA, I got a call from a "case" worker. Same deal on astonishment over this happening. I think it's just normal feedback to keep the smoke screen up. The factory rep that tied into my computer while we were driving told me this has been a problem for awhile and other trucks were worse than my 3-5 second lag. Somehow, that did not make me feel better. As I mentioned before on previous threads, the after market device helps but does not cure the problem. Mainly keeps you from being killed trying to enter traffic. Most of time. Worth the money if you plan to keep the truck. I drive my 04.5 mostly these days. Keeps me from grinding my teeth down to the bone.

When I installed the TSB on my 14, it masked the problem. Still there, just less noticed. I also noticed that when I press harder on the go pedal, the truck finally moves quicker! I cannot believe RAM has not addressed this issue yet. If it's a "protect the transmission" issue, then build a stronger transmission! Good grief. They say the 6RFE is supposed to learn your driving habits and change it's programming to accommodate? I'm still waiting for the either the learning or the changing to happen.

Do the ones with dead pedal also have the transmission slipping problem shifting to 3rd and 4th gear? Could be FCA trying to mask a problem with the trans, make it last until out of warranty.

There is no slipping problem. It's called shift flare and it's the torque converter locking/unlocking. If these transmissions slip you'll know immediately because the dash will light up like a Christmas tree.

A 300 to 400 rpm increase in engine rpm , for 2 seconds or more when upshifting is a lack of oil pressure to engage the clutch pack properly. This is not a torque converter lock/ unlock issue, if it were the over-rev would happen consistently with all gear shifts not just consistently with one or two. The duration of the dead pedal time is about the same as the over-rev delayed shift time.

I disagree.
