Hey guys,

Does anyone know how 2 get the dealer stickers of the paint job without scratching the paint? Is there some kind of soap or solvent that will do the trick? Thanks for any info. Colby

If you get after 'em right away, they'll come off with just picking with your fingernail. At least mine did. If it won't, try naptha, otherwise known as cigarette lighter fluid. It will loosen the adhesive and won't harm the paint. Just don't smoke while you are working on it!

Just used it to remove all the emblems off my '04. You can do a search on de-emblem and find all kinds of info on this topic.

I have always used a hair dryer to heat them up a little. Not hot enough to burn anything, but it does loosen up the glue. Then use some kind of solvent cleaner, like Goof-Off to get rid of the residue.

I did mine just like Jengle did. Hair dryer first... . removed lettering by picking it a little at a time with my finger..... then used adhesive remover for any residue.

I removed my 'Cummins' emblems from the front fenders & dealer stickers by heating them with a heat lamp. (flood light bulb will work too) I made a tool by cutting a paint stick about 6" long and sharpened one end on a bench grinder to help pry the emblems off. No scratches from the wooden stick.

To remove the adhesive I just soaked a small cloth with Carb/choke cleaner. Does a great job, no paint damage and is a lot cheaper than the 3M removers.

I installed my Putco SS full wheel trim yesterday, put the Cummins emblems on the Top rear area of the fenders. I think they look better there - different anyway.

Working on installing SS mud flaps, rotate tires, installing Tembrens and changing rear axle lube W/Royal Purple today. What Fun!!!!:D

I removed my dealer stickers using the hair dryer, just like some of the other guys. I was careful not to get the paint very hot, just warm enough to soften the sticker up. Then I used a little rubbing alchohol on a soft cloth to remove the glue residue, then I put on a coat of wax. Didn't have any problems with this method.

The main ingredient in 3M adhesive remover is naptha. Sometime read the label of cigarette lighter fluid. Sole ingredient? Naptha. A quart of naptha in the paint department at Home Depot is less than $4. The last time I bought the 3M remover, it was about $12 a quart. Cigarette lighter fluid, $2 for 8 ounces. Isn't marketing and repackaging great?

At most automotive paint stores they have an eraser that removes stickers and pinstripping the last one I bought cost ten bucks it is a round wheel that has a mandrel that fits a hand drill worked awsome and did not damage the paint
