I did all kinds of searchs and got lots of information on the Drone, but no one described it. What does it sound like and how would you describe it. At what rate does it modulate, roughly, in Hz. I went to a 4" exhaust yesterday and have a sound that was not there before, but I don't think it is "The Drone"

I will start another thread about my exhaust debacle.

Being the audio geek I am, my drone is more like a warble groupe of frequencies in the 150-250HZ region. I managed to tame them by insulating the bare metal behind my rear seat but it is still there. Another way to describe it is it buzzes your ears.

Hope this help, JC

Well, what I am getting is nothing like that. Mine is a simple low frequency modulation about 2Hz, you feel it and don't hear it. I experimented again today and it is about 70 to 75 mph and continues with the clutch in and kicked into neutral. I belive it is tire or drivetrain related but it is strangely coincidental that it would appear after installing the new exhaust. My son is giving me his stock 17"s off his new '05 this week so I will have new 'skins to play with.

It sounds more like an unbalanced driveshaft to me. I had that happen to me on a ford van and a re-balance got rid of it.

2HZ is realllllllly low!
